Saturday, September 5th, 2009 First of all I would like to say that I am not a professional woodworker. I just do my home improvement sometimes. I saw this tool from a website. I am interesting in it an buy one.
This is the brief specification of rockwell sonicrafter
1) High Frequency Oscillation up to 20,000 times / minute.
2) Magnesium alloy gear housing making it light.
3) Cord
I have done extracting my window casing around built in cabinet. The tool is quite compared to my older vibrating sander I owned. I can feel quality. I can cut the wood smoothly with universal end cut blade. Also the sanders are very aggressive. There is no dust while I am working. It just fall in its place properly.

Review give a clear choice
I debated whether I should splurge buying Fein multimaster or save some mony to buy the sonicrafter. After checking the comments and review for both toolss and watching videos youtube (Video is attached below) I choose the Rockwell sonicrafter. Since I buy it I have use the sonicraft to work on some serious DIY projects and it did a great job! Eg : sheetrock cutting, cutting out the hole for a pocket door hardware even in a solid alder door. It can simply cuts sheet metal and can slices through the nails easily too.
I don’t got a problem with blades loosening like in other reviews. If you using it slowly then the tool do the work fine. Remember that Sonicrafter’s not a Sawsall, please use it for finer work. Its not so fast at cutting harder woods like oak and maple.
Please consider to stocking up on blades because I have only found them on the internet. Like a saw blade, they dont last long,
Tips: Let your dull blades cutting sheet rock to save.
: use your sharp blades for wood cutting.
As a serious DIY guy I’m happy with the rockwell rk5102k sonicrafter and I’m happy that I saved the money 200$ buying the fein multimaster 250 tools FMM 250Q . What do you think?

Rockwell Rk5102k Sonicrafter Just for me at this store not menard or homedepot.
the sonicrafter is a multi-tool is good for small jobs. I am very happy with its performance so far. I have cut sheet rock spot sanded parts of wood floors. The floors still look good and keep the corners clean, I can go in places that could not get wiht other sander. My only comment is the tool attachment broken too quickly,
I melted the velcro grinding head attached this sonicrafter but I will buy a new one. prices a little high for this kind of attachments repacement. but it is the same with dremel multi max. when Cut grout, this tool do as the advertisment, just takes time,Totally I am very happy with the sonicraft by rockwell .
I will try to cut some wood to see the instrument perfomance. However, I like the tool is excellent for precision cutting and working in small spaces. I just wish the facilities(blade,sanding pad) last longer.
Ensure that attachemnt tighten on the tool or you will have a bad vibration when using the tool, and the wear of the heads of the plant where it connects to the tool itself sonicrafter will fine attachment get worn. It is a good buy for the money you pay. sonicraft 72-piece is very good, a lot of sandpaper provided. great tool !

Thursday, August 20th, 2009This rockwell rk5101k sonic tool is just a wonderful hard working equipment. I’ve been using the rockwell Sonicrafter as I have to go working fixing my kitchen. There is paint on the walls that have been there for 50 years. I’ve been using RK5101k on the wood work to remove layers of the old paint. This reduce my effort in have, I can make sure the stay crisp and smooth of carved areas along the doorways and ceilings.
When I need to go to cut small pieces of lumber I don’t need to use a saw horse or circular saw the Sonicrafter is a perfect tool to quickly keep your job done with out delaying. This tool will be very popular for sure!

Rockwell sonicrafter blades are cheaper than fein blade.
..Several commented on the exorbitant cost of the blades for multi Fein. I totally agree. My solution was to mine. I bought a replacement blade Dozuki, cut into three sections, each section welded to a piece of 16 gauge metal, which had perforated the right mounting hole. This week I was doing tile work so I bought a saw blade tungsten carbide, cutting a few inches and welded this piece of 16 gauge. These sheets can be good! and in a fraction of the cost Fein hopes to achieve.

I buy this rockwell sonicrafter tool for personal use both @ home and on mission trips working on hurricane damaged house. First time I used it was at a flood damaged home in Cedar Rapids, and it was used completely for a various tasks:
-trimming wood,
-cutting drywall,
-sanding drywall,
-cutting pipe(PVC) ,
-wood trimming, and cutting nails and screws.
It worked perfectly on the all of these tasks.
It worked well on cutting thin nails and screws, but I think I need a harder blade for the thicker nails. I dropped it from a 1m height onto concrete but no apparent damage so it seems very strong and sturdy.
I would surely recommend this rockwell sonicrafter tool for general purpose home repair and other professional work

I’ve bought the Rockwell RK5102k Sonicrafter together Fein Multimaster a couple of months already, and if they broke tomorrow, they will already have paid for themselves with all the work I have done with them.
Fein FMM 250 is the Best tool I have ever owned. It will get into places where other tools,saws or cutter cannot and make a cleanest cut. I haven’t used Fein for scraping,sanding or polishing yet, just doing the cutting wood and nails.
When you use it to cut wood, you can’t force it, just let it go at it’s speed and guide it back.
I highly recommend it.
