I bought this rockwell sonic crafter rk5107k tool to replace the 2 muti-tools i boughtat harbor freight. The old 2 tools only cost me $40 each. I burned through 2 of them , 4 of their grout blades while trying to remove the grout of my bath tub tiles.
I can’t even finishing two of the walls before the 2nd multimaster tool burned out. I get what I pay for. The Rockwell rk5107 Soni-crafter is leaps and bounds ahead of tool I expected from my old expirience with an multi purpose tool. Rockwell rk5107k , Not only was I able to finish the shower area in less 50 minutes ,
the included dust collecter attachment helped a lot to reduce the amount of dust We need to clean up afterward. By using a cheap tool took me over 1/2 days to do 1.5 walls and two more trips to harbor freight to replace tool and buy two more grout blades.I finished all tasks with the one rockwell sonic crafter grout blade that comes with the rk5107 Soni-crafter.I have also used this rockwell multi-tool to do tile at work, with 0.5 inch grout lines (using that blade)! I also use the rockwell blade to remove 0.75 inch thick rubber flooring with no damage on the tool. If you are looking to compare Fein multimaster vs rockwell sonicrafter but don’t have the money to spend on a Fein multimaster top,I would highly recommend the rockwell rk5107k Soni-crafter.I previously stay away from cordless tools unless you didn’t have access to an outlet. Dremel multi max is ok,but has not enough power – less power than the Rockwell. If your looking for best performance without the Fein multimaster top price, you will do very well with a Soni-crafter.
