Well the same tool is great. Well built. Storng houseing construction. The light is really handy to have. At first I thought it was just one of those things that companies add in a break in a week. it is not. you’ll love this instrument of death. money well spent. Drywall will be cut for some ‘time before his death, and cuts well. However heres the not so good. I can not find anywhere batteries. I work in areas with no power so I need a battery that will last, or multiple batteries. a battery capable of cutting4or5 through about 1×4 and off you go for wood. not too impressive. infomericials always show the cutting of nails. bull. the nail must be made of a soft metal, or just spent $ 15 for cutting a nail is ruined because Balde. a little dificult to tell if the nail is smooth or less when in the woods. so do not think that your going to cut through the nails. even for $ 150 or less worth of things you can do with this thing.
This review is from: Rockwell 12-volt RK2514K2 Sonicrafter LithiumTech(Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this new device, in liquidation, for almost 70% off my local shop. I had never seen a cordless oscillating tool before, but had heard good model Sonicrafter Rockwell with cable. I was not sure what to expect and honestly it was a bit ‘worried about the size of the battery and deep discount.
About battery life:
I have about 10 minutes at maximum speed for battery life is probably the maximum that anyone should use this toola continuous cut. I made sure to let the tool do the work trying not to apply too much pressure. With these tools, very long cuts risk of premature wear on the bits of cut due to overheating, and these blades are not cheap.
About the headlight:
The light seems well thought out position until you realize many positions are useful for cutting corner where the light is not able to shine. The light should sweep around the whole front of the machine instead of just being a bunch of small forward.
About the attachments:
Some people have reported the attachments coming loose and this was the case for me. I applied firm pressure to connect the bits seats when the hex screw, but not too much to break anything. Nothing came off after crossing three charges of battery and change the blade 10.
My concerns about the price had gone after trying the unit. After several weeks of looking at this new tool on my workbench, I was finally able to use it for a few scraps on the detailedmy house is 3 doors to the installation of some security locks and wrap the plates. BTW: These plates are wrapped to fit tight, or swinging and the door does not close properly the time of skill Sonicrafter precise cutting did not disappoint.
Security concern:
I have a lot of power tools. I like to use them and make plans to get home a lot faster. I have read carefully and try to learn to use hand tools properly, evenSometimes watching videos of professionals [when the manual is unclear] before jumping to pull the trigger.
This tool can cut very fast and there is no solid way to grab this tool, ergonomics must be improved. Many times, you have to make adjustments during cutting or stop cutting to change hands to get a better job position. I had to make a conscious effort to turn the unit off before making a change of position, otherwise the unit continues to operate. Maybe I’m just over thinking it [and I hatesounds like a] crybaby, but it has been checked and all my power tools that are able to cut off body parts have trigger spring.
I wanted to talk about what I think is a security issue: I believe that this tool should be run with a trigger spring instead of an Off / On Even though I was very careful in picking the instrument and the positioning of the mentality of my free hand, so as not to cross the blade running, I can see someone make a small mistake and having to go to the emergency room with his finger in abag of ice. Please hear me out:
Rockwell RK5102K SoniCrafter Deluxe
Using this tool ATER ON THREE SMALL PROJECTS COULD (but not) throw it away, as it has already paid off!
TOOL exhibitions of high quality and excellent performance. I do not want to go on and on. Suffice it to say EXCELLENT QUALITY ‘, excellent performance and great value for money ….
Although a bout of indecision, I ended up with both a Dremel Factory Refurbished 6300-02L-RT 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit and a Sonicrafter Rockwell – my intention is to return one. These are some thoughts on the pros andcons of each for a home user.
I bought both through Amazon – the Multi-Max reconditioned for $ 60 (regular price around $ 100) and 72 kits Sonicrafter piece for $ 160. The Multi-Max kit is, of course, but is much smaller than expected at that price.
I purchased the first Multi-Max and discovered that my little test with the wood it worked fine (not fast, but good). It ‘easy to handle and not too heavy. I was disappointed with the selection of blades and no blades includedhe managed to hit the nail (one of my projects is to remove drywall to the stud lines so there will be the nails). I grew concerned about the variety of blades Dremel generally based on the catalog included. This concern made me order the Rockwell.
The Sonicrafter is a heavier unit is drawing more power. While both operate at the same frequency (oscillations per minute), the head of Sonicrafter moves twice as far (three degrees instead of 1.5) at the same time – so it should godouble the number of teeth on a surface at the same time. My first tests were not that great – it was much slower than wood that passes through the Multi-max. But, the blades were evaluated for wood / metal so some compromise might be expected. Not having the same on both blades makes them a bit ‘difficult to compare.
The only concern is that the Rockwell while having a good selection of blades, can be difficult to find. However I discovered that both Lowe and local Woodcraft store brought the blades – as well as many online stores. Reading magazinesIt was clear that Rockwell was a machine more powerful and more difficult. The video for this cut nails looks impressive.
The 72 piece kit Sonicrafter has several parts – especially for grinding and polishing (though most of the pieces are sandpaper).
After getting the Sonicrafter I discovered later that the blade market (imperial tool-versa, [...], [...])! It seems there are a lot of other manufacturers are all blades and support and most media Dremel Rockwell. The aftermarketDremel blades to fit a variety of tools, blades Sonicrafter are more unique. So my concern to find a variety of original blades were unfounded.
I tried them on removing some paneling (cut halfway to the studs). I discovered that I liked with the Multi-max cut faster, but used the Sonicrafter where there could be nails. TheSonicrafter scraper drive was impressive for removing glued on board. Sonicrafter I used to cut a 2×2 nailed. After that I had a sliver of wood at Lowes for Sonicrafter and found it cut in about the same speed of the Multi-max (but not faster).
I then tried the Sonicrafter on the removal of some bricks of cement around the outside, cut easily and was very impressive.
So here’s the summary of my impressions:
Both units:
– These are both cool tools that will be useful for a lot of jobs – as well as precise cuts and hard grinding. I do not grind too much, butknows!
– With the right blades, both units are capable of cutting wood and plastics. I have no other materials to test the blades on the Multi-max, but my guess is that it will cut about the same.
– The lack of documents – a few paragraphs is all that I say, the Dremel has a little ‘more, but is also very poor. There should be a lot more information!
– Cost of blades is high, but about the same for both.
– There are adapters for both, to use other attachments.
– Both are variable speed andrated about the same speed.
– Amazon is a great shop and had them quickly and as promised!
Multi-Max by Dremel
– Lighter and easier to manage, but with the perceived quality of an instrument than lighter – I can only imagine if this translates into a greater or lesser duration.
– Cutting capacity – from what I have said, about the same (which was a surprise) – but I was not able todo not cut hard metal or concrete with the Multi-max due to the lack of a blade.
– Improved blade assembly, the screw does not require to come all the way out (and lost) and seats the blade easily.
– It costs less, but when you add accessories to compare apples and apples, not much different.
– Availability of blades and attachments – excellent, available everywhere. Also found a lot of the market after the knives – they all want to support her. So my conclusion, tipped blades – I think there are more than up to the Multi-Max when you shop online.
– The cable is a bit ’short
Sonicrafter
– More powerful
-Robust and “hard” feel “pro”
– The compromise of that feeling of solidity is that it is heavier and may get to be a lot to keep a job for long or in a difficult position.
– It has twice the power. But the tradeoff is that with the moving head twice as far is a bit ‘difficult to control, vibration so it’s much more difficult to start a precise cut. You need to plan a ‘”area of travel” with both blades, but more with the Sonicrafter.
– It ‘really be able to cut the nails. He also cut the concrete mixingeasily.
– Comes with a vacuum attachment, not even available for the Multi-max. It would be good for sanding (I need to strip some paint and do not really want the dust in the air).
– Comes with small attacks sanding and polishing, which would only be available for Multi-Max with an adapter.
– There is a good supply of Rockwell and aftermarket blades. I found local sources for both types of blades and a Lowes store wood (Where I live there are lots of shops).
– It ‘comes with an adapter for the blades, but I do not see how it could contain anything.
– The additional power can be valuable for sanding and grinding.
– My guess is that this unit is more durable.
– The way to attach the blades is not good, you have to take the mounting screw all the way out and the blade much more carefully.
Summary
The additional power of Sonicrafter does not seem to translate into a better ability to cut, even with a more aggressive (but not identical) blade. Iwere a little ‘divided between “more power” with a box full of candy and more control at a lower price. I wrote this to help me decide, in truth two would work.
And the winner is: Sonicrafter, I’m going to send back the Multi-max
So many reviews already. I do not know what to add except to say that this is a great kit and it seems more than any other kit in terms of price range, power, and attachments.
Overall this tool is great. In 2007 I had a job Ibought a RotoZip tool to accomplish a job tiles (you can only purchase Fein then). This tool RZ relegates to an angle grinder too expensive, but has almost the same tasks, and does it better.
As seen, this is like a precision saw straight. I was using to cut parts of a speed trailer popup without having to remove the walls. With the right attachments are able to immerse themselves in aluminum channels cut and remove the bad wood without interfering with the structural elements ofthe trailer. Nice. No other tool could do.
I also had the opportunity to use it as a scraper already. Spectacular easy to pull up vinyl flooring adhesive.
I also bought it because I can use it as a sander detail. This accessory kit comes with dust collection – nice.
This kit has an adapter that lets you use the attachments of other brands. I was able to opportunistically buy a “1 / 4 of the blade of another brand and use of this tool. Saved a lot ofgo around, and it beats any kind of advantage might have another tool to save time changing attachments quick release mechanisms. Also, I read that other models (Dremel) have problems with loose blades. The pergola / nut arrangement of this unit seems fine to me.
The love of the cable model. I can not imagine getting any of this work with one of these powered by a battery … especially a great job of scoring.
In general, this thing has been great and I have dozens of recent projects that Ithe fact that this tool would make it easier for them.
——————
Reading the most common complaints of dull blades and attachments as well as relaxation based on my initial use, I would say that some of the bad experiences come from pushing this thing hard. I have not used a long time, but found so far that I have to let it do the job. Time will tell whether it will continue to have the great experience that I have so far.
——————-
Another change … just had the opportunity to hold one ofthe new tools made by Porter Cable Oscillating … wow … tough call between the two. I think Rockwell is still the best bang for the buck, but Porter Cable has the best system for the rapid exchange blade you might think. From the looks of it, the PC may be able to use devices other brands as well, seems to have allowed an adapter because there is a pergola and screw … but their blades toothed use a method that seems even better than the Fein.
This Genesis multimaster tool is a good unit especially for 34$ price.I was going to buy the bosch multimaster version since my other tools are bosch, but I am not a contrarian DIYER any more so I could not accept the BOSCH the price. This tool did the job I bought it for with out thinking. I will be using this a lot in the future. The quality compare to the price is very good. Genesis GMT15A is the great tool that 100 dollars has been saved since the 1st time I used it. It saved time It exactly allowed me to cut where I wanted. Replacing rotting exterior door jams are great, I didn’t have to remove the interior trim.
Rockwell sonicrafter tool is a cool multi purpose tool. It has been sold troughout USA last year and get good feedbacks from a lot of users.
Rockwell established various of sonicrafters model. The RK5101K, RK5102K – RK5108K has been introduced and bring a successfull story to its company.
The brand has been known in quality, durability, usability and affordable.
There is no brands can be compared to Rockwell Sonicrafter. It is a really cool tool for daily usage.
I used Genesis GMT15A Multi-Purpose Oscillating Tool tool to install laminate flooring in my kitchen. Undercutting the door jambs. I already used it to replace a damaged board
in my hardwood floor. I think it work very good. I will recommend this genesis tool to my friends.
I used Genesis to plane the bottom on the door and to cut a square in my cabinet . I have used it over 3 times. The quality is good . When I used it to cut the square in wooden cabinets, the tool is quite difficult to control to make a straight light . The results will be very differrent from professionally for cutting long lines in wood.
this tool worked well.. protect your floor tiles with some steel, Make sure you put shims on the floor and . I used the plunge cut to cut 1/4 in off the ground. The results of using Genesis is good given I didn’t need to remove the door.
Good for cutting also the sanding. I think it is ok to use this tool because it is cheap. Sands better than my tiny dremel.
Today I have checked the ranking of Fein multimaster sales in ranking. It has dropped to 9th rank already. What does it means? It means that now US people tend to buy a cheap multimaster tool not a quality one. If they have more money they will choose to buy ‘Rockwell sonicrafter’ instead. This also a reflect that USD now got less value than before. Next generation of the buying power will go to asian like chinese. Now the cost of life in asia is almost same with USA.
The picture from site below tells me a lot of thing, also the economy in USA.

I will go to usa to have a good review of those multi tools. Rockwell sonicrafter, Fein multimaster and Genesis multi tool.
In the mean time. After checking a lot of site on the internet I found that Genesis GMT15A Multi-Purpose Oscillating Tool with the price $33.95
is the BEST SELLING AMONGS multi tools !!!! This is superb, What does it mean? It can tell that US people would buy a good thing in cheap price only.
2nd best selling multimaster tool is–> Factory-Reconditioned Dremel 6300-02L-RT 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit with 54.99$
It also say the same thing to me. Price is now has more weight for people in USA.
As far as I have studied the brand effective among people. Brand is “what the product says” in this case it means that.
Fein multimaster top cheap price is absolutely impossible.
How can you find a cheaper fein multimaster top than 300$? With its quality you must respect its price.
think about that, Why many people buy fein even it is expensive? Because of Fein quality is better than dremel, rockwell and genesis multi tools.
You have to find out by yourselves. Fein multimaster quality is 5 stars. Wait for what? life is short. Enjoy buying and using the best thing for yourselves now.

Because there was no comment on this story I was very apprehensive about purchasing this item, however, I went ahead and bought anyway. I took today, opened it, (it was well-packaged), put together (assembly required small amount), wired up to 220, tested the plasma cutter and arc welder and so far it worked fine. It ’s easy to use and easy to move. (Although it feels very solidly built light)
So far I am very satisfied…ramsond ct520dy 3-in-1 reviews ..
Then after long checking in the net I found that here has the best price and very careful shipping click! ..
professional tool set features the MultiMaster 250Q clamping system with quick lock system for accessory changes without tools
I looked at this tool for years. Recently a flood of competitors has finally hit the market! So I’ve checked everything I’ve read the reviews and demos. Guess what I bought the original. Why did I wait so long because I wanted to save some money. Now I think of all the projects I have done this easier! I’ve used almost every weekend since I took
